Schwab Plan in 3 easy steps
The Charles Schwab logo animates on screen.
The logo is replaced with a white square with the text “Welcome to Schwab Plan™” within.
Upbeat music begins to play in the background throughout the video.
A woman appears in the blue frame wearing a white blouse and a blue skirt. She’s juggling icons in her hands that represent her life’s responsibilities and finances: a piggy bank, a globe, an hourglass, a report, and a house. The items are being juggled in a circular motion.
Narrator: When it comes to retirement, there’s no one-size-fits-all option. That’s why we’ve introduced Schwab Plan,
The frame transitions to a person sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen, in a home-office setting. There’s a cup of coffee on her desk, a hanging plant that moves slightly, and framed photos and a calendar on the wall. On her computer monitor is a representation of the Schwab Plan website.
Narrator: a complimentary financial plan available for every Schwab client.
The image collapses and turns into a series of white dashes that lead to a gray square that says, “Your goals.” This then transitions to a semicircle with an increasing “Probability of Success.”
Narrator: Your Schwab Plan will help you set your goals and organize your finances to see where you stand toward reaching the retirement you want. Plus, get help with how to put your plan into action.
The Probability of Success animation transitions to a new image. A woman appears in the frame, sitting at a computer looking at her plan’s dashboard and she begins adjusting some of her financial inputs.
Narrator: Even if you already have a plan or are retired, your Schwab Plan can be used as a quick check to make sure you’re still on track to reach your retirement goals.
The screen fades to a blue background with white text and three numbered circles.
Onscreen text – How it works
Narrator: Here’s how it works in 3 easy steps.
We fade to the first step of the process. There are three customizable sliders for fields, including “When would you like to retire?”, “Basic Living Expenses,” and “Extra Living Expenses.”
Onscreen text – Step 1: Fill out a short questionnaire. Your personal vision for retirement.
Narrator: In as little as 15 minutes, log into your account and fill out a short questionnaire beginning with your goals, like when you want to retire and how much you’d like to be able to spend each month.
An arrow cursor scrolls across the screen and moves the retirement age range. Then the arrow clicks on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen on a blue button labeled “Next >.”
The sliders fade away and are replaced by dropdown menus with options for one to select as they continue to fill out their plan’s questionnaire, including “Other Income,” “Investment Assets,” “Stock Options,” “Restricted Stock,” and “Social Security benefits.”
The arrow moves to the section below and the age at which the person wants to begin receiving their Social Security benefits is adjusted to age 70.
Narrator: Then, enter your income, assets, and investments, plus include any pensions and annuities, and social security.
The screen transitions to show a chart on the left side of the screen and a probability of success semicircle on the right. The chart shows several projections of estimated Portfolio Value into the future. There is a calculation showing that of 1000 trials based on your input information, 700 of them successfully reached your stated goal. This produces a 70% probability of success.
Narrator: Our advanced technology will take your answers and run simulated market projections to generate the probability that your plan will help you reach your goals.
The screen fades to several more sliders for “Retirement Age,” “Health Care,” and “Retirement Basic Living Expenses.” As they are adjusted, a Probability of Success number in the top right corner changes.
Onscreen text – Step 2: See your probability of reaching your goals
The view zooms back out to see the woman at her computer interacting with the previous screen.
Narrator: From there, you can stress test your plan with an interactive tool. Adjust your retirement age, expected expenses, desired retirement income, and more to see how your probability score is affected.
The screen transitions to three circular illustrations, each representing a specific action to take as you review your plan. The three specific actions include “Automated investing,” “Manage and trade your own investments,” and “Invest with a financial professional.”
Onscreen text – Step 3: Review your plan and take action
Narrator: Then, we’ll help you better understand your score and provide you with actionable steps you can take to improve the likelihood of your plan’s success.
The screen transitions to an illustration of a house with a FOR SALE sign that switches to say SOLD. The SOLD sign moves slightly as if blown by a mild breeze.
Narrator: As life transitions and changes, you’ll be able to revisit your saved plan to make adjustments and ensure that you’re still on track to your goals.
The house transitions to an illustration of a passport, boarding pass, and a map. The images move slightly.
This transitions to an illustration of a person standing confidently on a grassy path, looking out onto the horizon.
Narrator: Get started with your complimentary Schwab plan today.
Upbeat music begins to play in the background throughout the video.
The final illustration fades to the Charles Schwab logo as “Own your tomorrow” animates on in cursive writing below.
